Oil Lamps & Lanterns
Aladdin Mantle Lamps - The finest indoor oil-burning lamps available. With their incandescent mantles (like you would find on a pressure lantern), they are far brighter than regular flat-wick lamps and lanterns. But they do not require all of the pumping, pre-heating, or other fiddlery that the pressure lanterns do.
Kosmos-Brenner Lamps - Although not as bright as the Aladdin mantle lamps, the Kosmos lamps
are the finest, brightest non-mantle oil lamps in production today. The
Kosmos burner uses flat wick folded round, to create a flame with much
more surface area than a regular flat-wick lamp, resulting in far more
light output than a regular flat-wick lamp.
Dietz Hurricane Lanterns - A simple, reliable, and inexpensive flat-wick design that has been around since the 1840s. These lanterns do not produce nearly as much light as the mantle lamps and pressure lanterns, but you don't have to worry about breaking the mantle either.
